The problem with being a dilettante crafter is that you have a lot of extra supplies and unfinished projects crowding your closet. One such project lying around my house is hundreds of scraps of fabric that my mom and I were going to make into a quilt. We both admire the gorgeous quilts we see every year at the Minnesota State Fair and wanted to create our own. We chose a diamond pattern and several colors–black, turquoise, hot pink, purple–and we even cut all the diamonds necessary. But summer turned to fall, I went back to school, and it never got done. The State Fair starts in ten days, so maybe we’ll be inspired once more. Or maybe we’ll be inspired to create crop art…better clear out some space in the closet for a bunch of seeds and hay.
